--Scouting America-Requirements for Adults at Camp--
Daytime Adults: All adults (18+) visiting camp for the daytime only must either provide a valid Youth Protection Training Certificate or be accompanied by a Youth Protection Trained Adult while in camp. No exceptions.
Overnight Adults: All adults (18+) staying overnight in connection with a Scouting activity (including guests in Wabaningo) must be a currently registered adult volunteer or an adult program participant. This is a National Scouting America requirement and is non-negotiable. Adult volunteers must register for the position(s) they are serving in. Registration as a merit badge counselor position does not meet this requirement. If you want to become a registered member of Scouting America, contact your Council’s Registrar. Individuals in the Northeast Illinois Council area may find our registrar’s contact information at this website. If you wish to stay in the nearby area overnight, there are opportunities to find lodging locally to camp. Some of our recommendations are:

camping in WABANINGO During the Camp Season
If you are looking to camp on our property, you will need to reach out to our Reservation Director via email and copy our Program Assistant so we can ensure there is available space for you. You will also need to follow the camp policies noted here and as provided upon check in.
During the Summer Camp Season, Guest Camping is available in our Wabaningo area of Camp across the road from the main reservation. Wabaningo is ideal for families of Scouts and adult leaders who are attending summer camp programs at MSR and want to enjoy some outdoor fun of their own. The camp is a short drive away from most facilities and has showers and bathrooms within walking distance. Gilwell Field is home to the Chojnacki Pavilion, which provides a screened-in eating area, an indoor fireplace, and an outdoor firepit with seating around it. Campers have their choice of the main activity area, Gilwell Field, or one of our wooded campsites that surround the field.
Overnight guests must turn in the appropriate BSA Health Form at the Health Lodge upon arrival. If staying overnight for less than 72 hours, complete Parts A and B only. If staying overnight for more than 72 hours, also have Part C completed by your physician. CLICK HERE to be taken to the National website for both forms.

important information
Check-In and Check-Out
When you first arrive at the camp, if no one is set up at the stop sign outside the Gatehouse (at the picnic table), you must check in at the Administration Building (across the road from there) to pay any camping fees and receive a guest wristband and parking permit. We also want to give you a camp map and allow you to purchase meal tickets, if needed. If you arrive before 9 AM or after 5 PM, go to the Welcome Center the next time it is open to complete check-in.
If staying overnight, you will be directed to the Health Lodge (just down the road) to drop off your required BSA Annual Health Form(s).
Please check out no later than 10:30 AM on the day of your departure at the Administration Building. If you need to stay longer, please notify the camp staff there.
Our camp staff wants to ensure your stay is enjoyable—feel free to stop by with any questions or concerns, or to charge your phone (or laptop). It is open 9 AM-5 PM each day that camp is.
What to Bring
Click here for our packing list (page 5 of this document). While some items, such as Scout uniforms, will not apply to all guests, the list still provides a good overview of necessary camp supplies. Check out the last page for Swim Test Procedures.
